Our Story
Good Day Café was developed by Strawberry Fields, Inc., in response to the
upwards of 80% unemployment rate for people with Autism, intellectual disabilities and mental health diagnoses. We opened our doors in August 2018 and since then, have provided meaningful employment for 13 individuals with disabilities.
Good Day Café is a place where people of all abilities can contribute and belong to our community and where diversity is celebrated.
Having a job gives you a sense of purpose, financial stability, independence, confidence, and so much more. Our mission is to empower individuals and enrich lives through meaningful employment. Every purchase at Good Day Café helps to support this goal.

A UNIQUE FIRST IN CENTRAL PENNSYLVANIA
#CoffeeWithACause
As a human service agency in State College, PA,
Strawberry Fields has watched the people we support constantly struggle to gain and keep employment. We wanted to create a win/win opportunity for our community members with disabilities and for the entire community.
Good Day Café is a coffee shop serving
Rothrock Coffee and Espresso, Spectral Tea, and various breakfast and lunch items. Located in the Hamilton Square Shopping Center (286 W. Hamilton Avenue), our café has ample parking, free WIFI and outdoor seating. Our hashtag, #CoffeeWithACause, is a salute to our unique mission of employing adults with disabilities. Good Day Café was modeled after Bitty & Beau’s Coffee in Wilmington, N.C.
“This coffee shop is a joint effort of many local partners who share our dream of a future that holds inclusion, acceptance and employment for an underserved group of people,”
-Cindy Pasquinelli, CEO

Each year, the Centre Foundation offers the Centre Inspires grant to fund projects that will transform the county by creating change through community engagement.
In 2017, Strawberry Fields was awarded the $100,000 Centre Inspires grant for our
coffee shop proposal.
